In Kindergarten over the last week, we've been using our names to learn and practice some important math skills! First, each child needed to build a tower of cubes that had one cube for each letter in their names ( a counting and cardinality standard). Next, they had to compare their towers to classmates' towers to find names that were shorter in length, longer, and the same ( another counting and cardinality standard). They had a recording sheet to show their findings. Then, they compared several names at once to order them shortest to longest. Math is fun!
